eTOD: electronic Terrain and Obstatcle Data

eTOD (electronic Terrain and Obstatcle Data)

One of the major block upgrades within ICAO guidelines is the transition from AIS to AIM systems, which includes development of Integrated Aeronautical Information Database. Every Aerodrome operator has the responsibility to provide data for obstacles and terrain in eTOD (electronic Terrain and Obstacle data) format and it is one of the compliances according to provisions of ICAO Annex 15.

ADL has developed a solution that supports the operators and State to develop this framework to comply with the given guidelines. Development of eTOD data is not just survey or capturing data but further looks into deploying data in the SWIM systems. With in-house R&D, ADL has devised solutions that include end-to-end seamless data integration along with the publication of this data through eAIP.

eTOD data results support:

  • ICAO Annex 15
  • Amendment 36 of Annex 15
  • Terrain and Obstacle data manual 2.0 by Euro Control

  • Doc 9881 implementation
  • ISO 1900 series of standards

ADL also offers the below services through eTOD:

  • Detailed project outlining support in implementation of the ICAO and ISO Standards related to electronic terrain, obstacles and aerodrome mapping data

  • Initial assessment, inventory and development of the report regarding terrain, obstacles and aerodrome mapping data
  • Regulatory framework including policy formation and guidance required for the implementation of the ICAO & ISO standards relevant to airport operations for eTOD implementation
  • Undertake aeronautical 3D survey and Obstacle Limitation Evaluations at aerodromes/heliports
  • Development of regulatory framework for the permission and control of obstacles
  • Development and implementation of terrain, obstacles and aerodrome mapping databases
  • Training in eTOD and aerodrome mapping customized according to the customer needs
  • Training in the management and use of terrain, obstacles and aerodrome mapping databases according to the quality principles
