AIXM: Aeronautical Information Exchange Model

The Aeronautical Information Exchange Model (AIXM) is a specification designed to enable the encoding and the distribution in digital format of the aeronautical information, which has to be provided by the national Aeronautical Information Services (AIS) in accordance with the ICAO Convention.

The objective of the Aeronautical Information Exchange Model (AIXM) is to enable the provision of conversion of the aeronautical information that is in the scope of Aeronautical Information Services (AIS) in digital format. The AIS information/data flows that are increasingly complex and made up of interconnected systems. They involve many actors including multiple suppliers and consumers. There is also a growing need in the global Air Traffic Management (ATM) system for high data quality and for cost efficiency.

ADL-AIXM is a part of ADL's integrated suite of applications for Aeronautical Information Services and Management (AIS/AIM). This suite consists of a Central Aeronautical Database (ADL-IAIDb) and a set of tools for the production of AIS products and the management of static and dynamic data. The integrated nature of ADL's AIS/AIM solutions ensures full compliance with the ICAO mandates for data quality.

Salient Features of ADL-AIXM

ADL:AIXM 5.1 migration tool typically provides users with category of conversion services:

AMDB data set to AIXM 5.1

AMDB data set comprises of the suite of services to convert the aeronautical data set which includes features of the aeronautical mapping data base.

eTOD data set to AIXM 5.1

eTOD is typically for the preparation of the electronic terrain and obstacles data. This module of conversion is available for eTOD data for Area 1,2,3 and 4 for Obstascles

AIP data set to AIXM 5.1

eAIP to AIXM 5.1 conversion is part of digital AIP compliance of ICAO. It takes care of Digital NOTAM, AICs, Supplements, Amendments and AIP
